    Hi All. I am using wordpress.com for a website rather than blog. It is coming up on Page 5 of a google search. What can I do to get it on page 1? I tried adding some meta-tag into the html, just by adding it at the top but it kept getting deleted. It is for a business and I really want it to work.
    Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Shiarne

    </head>

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    If you care about SEO then be aware that Posts have tonnes of Google juice and Pages have diddly squat. You can create as many static Pages and sub-pages as you like but the vast and overwhelming amount of Google juice goes to Posts because that’s the way blogs are designed and how they function. The most Google juice of all goes to the Front page of a blog, because blogs are structured in reverse chronological order, and search engines are programmed to locate fresh dynamic content on the front page.

    P.S. We cannot access metadata on free hosted WordPress.com blogs and inset anything into the <head>

    You are actually asking why your mule isn’t winning the Kentucky Derby. Don’t race a mule.

    Hi All,
    Thank you. Can I rev up my mule in some way? Can I arrange hosting and use plugins? Will this fix things?
    Kind regards
    Shiarne

    Why don’t you try writing Posts? You should have some things that happen at the club – write about them – each time a Post is made your blog calls up the search engines and asks the engines to stop by and get the new content – lot easier than moving hosts – and your pages are not much – no plug-in in the world will get a two line page top ranking – just won’t happen

    No. There are no plugins that will turn your mule into a thoroughbred. There’s a reason major companies like Ford and Coca Cola are paying my friends big bucks to do blogs for them.

    Holy mackerel, Time Thief. You have shattered me. Pages don’t earn google juice? Really? How do those sites with static pages get such a high SEO ranking? I am now more confused than ever. My SEO report gives me a black mark for my blog (http://www.reliefteaching.com ) for having to may links on my home page which contains more than 170 posts. I was going to convert them into pages. So do I rethink this strategy?

    Yes, rethink this.

    Rats. I received this on my SEO report – Warning: This web page contains 157 URLs. Some search engines e.g Google have problems with more than 100 urls on a page and ignore them.

    So as I add more posts I am going to have more and more URLs. That puts me between a rock and a hard place.

    Why don’t you simply disable infinite scroll? If you set it to load five pages at a time, then the Load More Posts button, etc, Google is smart enough to know what’s going on and not penalize you.

    Thanks raincoaster. I think I have disabled infinite scroll. I have 17 pages on my home page. I am one page 1 for most of my keywords but they are not the most popular. My google ranking is only 2/10 but I just employed an elance writer to develop a static home page. This might, in fact, be harmful to my ranking using timethief’s thinking.
