Increase the width of the content are in iTheme2

    Take a look at my blog:

    I want to adjust the width of the central content area, that is the width of the menu bar and the post content, leaving the sidebar width as-is.

    e.g. widen the menu bar by (say) 100px and the article body area by the same, so the the text has more horizontal space and the sidebar gets simply shifted 100px to the right.

    Surely there’s some numeric value somewhere that governs this width?

    Howdy Korporal!

    This is the code you’re looking for:

    #masthead, #main, #colophon {
clear: both;
margin: 0 auto;
<strong>max-width: 978px;
width: 978px;</strong>
}

    Specifically the two in bold.
    Increase these by 100px to achieve the look you specified:

    max-width: 978px; >>> max-width: 1078px;
    width: 978px; >>> width: 1078px;

    That should work perfectly for you.
