Increase Traffic to my Blog, but not so Much?

  Hi,

  I’ve disabled the feature of “search engines” on my blog because I like to keep the access to my blog somewhat controlled. At the moment; however, the blog is dead since I haven’t been actively posting for a while. In the past, one way of increasing traffic was to individually visit blogs I’m interested in and comment on them. That has worked because I’m choosing who I am interacting with to a certain extent.

  I’m wondering now if there are other ways to increase traffic but without keeping the blog completely open that I’m not aware of? For example, is there a way to use tags without enabling search engines?

  This might come across as a weird question but I thought it’s worth asking all the same.
