Increase width of a website

    Hi,

    I’m trying to increase the width of the main content area of my site. There is no “layout options” for my theme – is it possible to do this with CSS? I have search extensively and can find no solution that works.

    I intend to remove the sidebar from my site (which can be done within the simple settings) but I am left with a narrow area for the main content.

    The theme is Avani.

    Just a quick note:

    For help customizing your theme it’s always best to contact support for your theme directly first. If you downloaded the theme from wordpress.org/themes, you’ll find a support link on the theme page there that goes to the subforum for the specific theme.

    Or if you bought the theme from another website, there should be a support link there – premium themes typically include support.

    Thanks for the tip – I’ve found the correct subforum for Avani and posted the question there. There are only two topics on it, each of them over a year old! Fingers crossed someone is out there!!

    Yeah, unfortunately not all theme authors are diligent at providing support for their themes over there.

    But overall the community in the WordPress.org forums are very friendly and helpful, so if you don’t get a response in the theme forum, you can always try in the general forum instead – just make it clear that you already tried the theme forum and the theme author is not responding in that case.
