Indent and Double space?

  Is there a way to indent or double space? WordPress takes them out when you publish.

  If you space five times before a paragraph it looks indented when you type it but when published your indent is gone. Same thing with double spacing between sections or after a picture.

  If you spend a half hour typing html spacing into your post it will preview right but if you switch to the visual tab when typing it will go back and take out all your spacing code leaving you where you started.

  My own blog is trying to make me look like a half literate idiot. Is there an easier way to indent and double space?
