Independent domain question

  I purchased the $99 per year website package that was presented as a website allowing for an independent domain, without “.wordpress.com” at the end. It seems that this is so far not the case. Did I not purchase what I thought I did? If so, I may want to rethink my package style, or remove it altogether. Thanks.

  You registered http://gadsdengazette.com/ and it is working. The nameservers appear to be set up correctly for gadsdengazette.com. gadsdengazette.com is set as the primary domain for gadsdengazette.wordpress.com and will appear in the address bar when you visit the site.

  Domain mapping is not now an instantaneous process and has never been instantaneous. It can take as long as 72 hours for DNS changes to become widely available. I am in Canada and the redirect for mapping the domain is operational for me. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during this stage is to be patient.

  When I visit gadsdengazette.wordpress.com, I’m redirected to your new domain, gadsdengazette.com (without “.wordpress.com”). If you’re not seeing that, try clearing your browser’s cache: https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache

  I appreciate everyone’s time and help. I found the way to register and map my domain after posting my message here. I’ll be monitoring it to see if everything checks out over the next few days. Thanks again.
