Index like page (archive)
-
Hello people.
I’ve brrn googling for days now…. and getting nowhere…
The problem I am having is that I created and archive which displays all the post (“daybyday”) and my archive page shows just links to the posts. Is there any plugin or other way of making your archive look like an index page (to have picture, a bit of the text and “continue reading” link next to each archive post)?Thank you in advance!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Can we have a link to that archive page? All the page tabs on the site linked to your username link to the main site page, not to actual pages (and I don’t speak or read your language).

Yes – of course.
I have stored test of the page at hppt://78.60.149.148
there will be menu “pradzia” and “xxx”. “Pradzia” is index page and “xxx” is my archive. The main in having this is that I want to have archive that will show only “secondary” category posts and in Index all categorys are being displayed.
Hope thats a bit more clearer.
Thanks again -
OK, that site is self-hosted so you will have to head over to the wordpress.org forums as that is where the software you are using is supported.
These forums are for those hosted here at wordpress.com and things here work differently.

Alright… give me a sec – I will host it here :DD maybe this way will be easier to find an answer.

Well, hold on, what we have here is the archives shortcode, and what you get out of it is this: http://opposablethumbz.wordpress.com/post-index/ .
What you need to do before making a decision to move over here is to look at the archive plugins available for self-hosted sites. The one I use is “Clean Archives Reloaded” and you can see a sample of it here: http://the-sacred-path.com/archives/ .
There are other archives plugins as well, that is just the one I chose because it does the expand/collapse thing by month.

You can search for plugins at http://wordpress.ORG/extend/plugins/ .
Also, you are still on wordpress 2.8. You really need to update to the latest version which is 3.2.1. You will have to check the requirements and make sure your web host meets the requirements though.

Alright… web host – it’s me :DD I host it on my personal laptop. Using simple apache, PHP5 and MySQL. All free to use so no need to pay hosting fees ;]
