Index location (and theme worries)
-
Hello,
I’m having a really difficult time and am a new user. I joined wordpress because I found this link on how to create a blog with two “blogging” columns next to each other:
I picked a theme, bought the CSS Updater and was all ready to follow the instructions on that link, but:
1. I cannot figure out how to find my index.php so that I can mess with the coding. I’ve checked under Presentation and everywhere else on the dashboard but still can’t find it.
1a. I thought that maybe it was my theme I chose that screwed it all up, so I was trying to get back to the Kubrick default theme, but can’t find out how to do that either.
I’m very frustrated and sad.
Thanks in advance for your help!

At wordpress.com, we do not have access to the underlying theme files since this is a mult-user version of wordpress and we all share the same theme and wordpress files, so any change one person would make would effect us all.
The modifications you are talking about can only be made on a self-hosted wordpress blog using the software downloaded from wordpress.org. You would need to buy a domain name, hire a web host, install the wordpress software and theme files, and them make the modification.
