Ineligible TLD’s
-
I am trying to upgrade to remove the .wordpress.com from our web site (valeroyalstringorchestra.co.uk) and improve it and continue using the domain name which is registered with Namesco. Each time I try to upgrade and pay there is a problem. The latest being ‘ineligible TLD’s’. What is that?
Is it worth continuing with WordPress or try another provider? I thought the process was simple! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have added “modlook” tag for the staff assistance. You will get a reply soon from the staff.

Ineligible Top Level Domain.

Yes, I believe WordPress.com is the best place to be but I think you’ll have to map that domain to your WordPress.com site rather than completely transferring it. This thread has been tagged for staff though so they will be able to confirm this.

Hi there,
Where exactly are you seeing that error?
If you’re trying the transfer option, that won’t work as we don’t support transfers for .co.uk domains.
Please choose the option to map the domain to your site instead, as @themagicrobot also explained above. This means your domain will be connected to and show your WordPress.com site, but the domain registration will stay with Namesco, and you will pay them to renew the domain each year.
