If your theme has the option of putting in footer widgets, put in a text widget and leave it empty. That should take care of the infinite scroll. If you do a search on these forums for infinite scroll you’ll find loads of threads about it – it’s something that WordPress.com have been bringing in for a lot of themes recently and they’re adding it to more and more as time goes on. Nothing we can do about it, sorry! (I’m a volunteer, like most people here).

Adding the an empty text widget to the footer is step one.
If that doesn’t work, then step two is going to Reading Settings and un-checking “To infinity and beyond”

Thank you very much for your (quick) answers. I’ll care about this after work and will let you know.

Ok so i guess my theme doesnt allow the widget in footer // So i tried all u said and it still infinite: means at end of my settings (5posts per page) the wordpress automatically refresh and add 5 more///its terribly slow for me and i suppose for my readers
Also the “To infinity and beyond” mode disappeared…..cant uncheck it anymore

    Thanks everyone

Yeah, you would have to switch to a theme that had footer widgets in order to have the ability to stop infinite scrolling.

Sad they don’t think enough of us users to give all of us the choice to use it or not.

As you do not wish to chnage themes in particular see 3. (a) (b) (c) for a workaround that will achive what you want to do.
