Influx of spam = irritating!

  So a while back, I published a post with a bunch of horse jokes in it. Now I have been getting over 60 spam comments a day on that post. I know Aksimet blocks them but it’s still super irritating. I don’t want to disable comments but I might have to. The spam comments are all about an Asian horse riding stable.   Some posts just naturally attract spammers it seems. As long as Akismet is catching them, there is not much else that can be done. It is doing its job. You might try turning the comments off on that post for a couple weeks and then reenable them. I’ve done that on some client sites. Sometimes when you turn comments back on you will have a week or so with not much activity, but then they start flooding back in.

  When you get to 200 to 450 per day on one single post, let me know.
