.info

Hi, can I change my site to a .info instead of .com? If so, how? Thanks.

Hi there,
A custom domain cannot be changed once registered, but it can be replaced with a completely new domain.
So to change your domain to a .info domain, go to My Site ->Upgrades ->Domains ->Add New, and follow the steps to register a new .info domain.
Once you’ve done that, set the new domain as primary on your site (that will require that you upgrade to a paid plan). Then it will become the domain that’s visible in the browser address bar, and the old domain will redirect to it.
For the existing domain, you can then either cancel it, or leave it to expire. I recommend you leave it to expire – that way it will still work for a while, so search engine results with the .com domain, for example, will still take people to your site during the few weeks while your content is getting re-indexed at the new domain.
Also note that the moment the .com domain is cancelled/expires, any links on the web that are using that domain will immediately stop working. If you want existing links to continue working, you’ll need to continue renewing the .com domain along with the new .info domain. In other words, those links will only work for as long as you continue to be the owner of the domain.
Let me know if you have any questions about this.
