  I’m thinking about trying WP.org. I would like to talk to somebody at WP to understand what it’s like to use. Is there a contact phone number or something?

  As usual, your advice is right on the mark.

  Some of the forum commentary about the technical maintenance challenges associated with using a host site seem a little intimidating. I had a conversation with Blue Host and came away feeling there would be little or nothing to do technically. I will followup with them.

  Most hosters have some way of installing and automating needed upgrades when it comes to the more known versions of Open Source software. (ie wordpress, phpnuke, phpbb, etc.) All you do if fill in some simple information fields like your contact email address and it will do everything for you.

  Anything extra like additional themes or plugins you have to install yourself though.
