Information Retention: Reverting from custom domain name to free domain name

  If I buy a custom domain name for my blog and then decide after a while to let it slide back to a free .wordpress.com domain, will my free site retain everything the same but with the free domain name?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  the info would be safe on the base blog – actually the info stays on the base blog and domain mapping with a custom domain name just changes the address your visitors see when they visit
