Initial setup problem.

  I just created an account and returned the confirmation email. I had also gone through the site selection procedure and opted for the hosted ‘.com’ website upgrade and selected ‘solar-matrix.com’, which I was told was available. Now, after logging in and selecting the ‘My Site’ tab, I am told that I have no website yet and am instructed to create a website–again. However, when I go through the process again and try to enter the website name that I selected before, I’m stopped at ‘sunspot_’ when typing the name ‘sunspot-matrix’ and told that name is unavailable. What should I do next? My email is (email visible only to moderators and staff) THANKS!

  Hi there. The WhoIs data for http://www.solar-matrix.com/ shows it is registered with MONIKER ONLINE SERVICES LLC and is hosted with lifemanager.com, not WordPress.com. It has been registered since 10 April 2013, was last renewed on 30 March 2015 and expires 10 April 2016. That domain was definitely not bought via the WordPress.com dashboard and there’s no way it would have showed as available to you. https://whois.domaintools.com/solar-matrix.com

  If you created a WordPress.com site you’ll have a free WordPress.com address. What is that address?

  Thank you so very much.

  Your swift work made it easy for me to see that I tried to type “Solar-Matrix.com” instead of “Sunspot-Matrix.com”, which is the one that I had actually registered.
