Initial website building question

Question i am very new to the website building process and am confused by the themes, I’d they will do what I want. I like the Photographer theme best. Before I buy it, can you tell me if it will fit my needs? I am a writer/photographer. On my main page I’d like to feature a photo. Then I’d like pages for Bio, Blog, Contact, Books, Photos, there might be another page or two, and then I’d like a page for Featured Artist wherein in can feature information, photo, and links for a featured artist each month, Is all of this possible using the Photographer theme?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there – you should be able to do all of that with the Photographer theme, but if you’re new to WordPress.com, I suggest first going through our new user’s guide here:

Most of our themes operate in the same general way, and rely on features that are consistent no matter which theme you are using – features such as a custom menu, featured images in posts, etc. Here are some support articles that will help you set your site up as you describe (regardless of theme):

* Custom Menus — how to create a menu that will let you organize your pages
