Initial WordPress Admin URL Lost After Connecting to Shopify
-
Hi. I Need to address my urgent issue with respect to my WordPress site.
I was interested to connect my original WordPress site to Shopify. So I recently processed a ‘Connect Existing Domain’ with Shopify. It should have CONNECTED my original WordPress site to Shopify and NOT REPLACE my original site built on WordPress, so we should have had in the end 2 entities by the end of this process.
But after being processed, I am seeing on my WordPress Admin site: (1) error message ‘404 — Page Not Found—‘ , (2) a ‘Continue Shopping’ button, and (3) a Shopify tab below.
When I search my site name (sammyteddy.com), I see it is now formatted by Shopify and I am able to ‘Edit Homepage’. Before, my site had a message ‘Coming Soon’ to show maintenance is currently undergoing (This was under the original WordPress Admin URL which I have been controlling for a long time).
Altogether, now I am not able to access my original WordPress Admin URL. Will need to regain it, it will be difficult to start all over again.
Will be great for your input! Thanks.

A domain cannot be connected to 2 different sites. That’s why you lost your wordpress website when you connected your domain to shopify. You must contact your previous hosting to see if they still have a backup of your site.
