Inove Theme

  Hello.

  Is there any way to apply Inove Theme to a new blog created a month ago?

  Although is an old theme I think it is still a nice one and I would like to be able to use it.

  No there is not. Themes are retired when they no longer support all WordPress.COm features. They cannot be used on any blogs that they were not previously used on.

  Timethief is spot on when she says it’s not possible to use Inove on a month-old blog.

  They cannot be used on any blogs that they were not previously used on.

  Just to clarify a little bit, when themes are retired, they can still be activated on any site created prior to the the theme’s retirement date. INove was retired well over a month ago (2012!), which makes it inaccessible to your month-old site.

  I would pay money to be able to use older, “retro” or old-school themes. Sure they are not responsive or mobile-optimized. Sure they don’t “support all WordPress.com features”. But Automattic can still monetize them. Allow them to be used, but with a big, big caveat: no support will be provided by the community or by the Happiness Engineers. Newer may be better (in your minds) – – but it is not always cooler !

  If you love Treba, Ambiru, Misty Look, iNove, Emire, Digg 3, and the super-beautiful Ocean Mist, are willing to wing it in case bugs appear, and want the look, feel, and nostalgia of old-school, early days blogging, for $25 each you can create/convert your blog to one of these themes. Its like riding a Big Wheel or carrying your Trapper/Keeper to school !

  C’mon, WordPress, “retro” is in, be creative and wacky, make those old themes a hidden feature like secret, off-the-menu items at In-N-Out Burger.

  My $25.00 per blog awaits your bank account. And I got a bunch of blogs !

  Wow! We could not be more different. I’m on the other side of this issue. I do not love any the old themes you listed … lol :D I use only the gold standard WordPress.COM responsive layout themes and only those that have automatic front page post excerpts.

  All kidding aside, the new themes are beautiful, and the ability to enjoy blogs on various mobile devices is of course a great thing. But you don’t throw grandma out with the trash just because she has slowed down a bit, forgets stuff from time to time, and perhaps does not “support all WordPress.com features”…… do you ? And “retro” does have it place…even if it is just a small little place.

  I’ll check back with you again 20 years from now…..
