iNove Theme Question about Author Pages

I am currently using the iNove theme for my blog.
I noticed that you can click the authors of a specific post and then the site will redirect you to a link (e.g. nameofblog.wordpress.com/author/JohnDoe).
The link brings up all the posts by that author.I think that is a pretty cool feature. I was just wondering if there is any additional functionality to that. How can I add more to each individual author page. I notice that there is a physical page it directs you to (nameofblog.wordpress.com/author/JohnDoe). But how do I edit that page?

There are two version of this theme. The original for self hosting wordpress.ORG users and the adapted theme version for wordpress.COM which has less features Please post the url for the blog you are referring to starting with http://

Here’s the link to a review of the inove theme. It does not address Authors and editing that you propose however, it may be helpful in other regards. As we cannot edit our underlying templates on wordpress.com blogs http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/ I suspect the answer to your question is a “no” but cannot confirm that via support documentation.

I am using the authors widget but that only links me to the same page as if I click on the author name next to the post.
My hope is to be able to have a “bio” of each author appear on the author pages along with the articles they have posted.

How ill you get those author pages to automatically update with each new entry? Remember that a blog has only one page that all posts are automatically added to with the most recent post placed on top.

Were you intending to make each author’s name into a category and then use the ivove feature of having categories up top where static pages usually are?

If so, then there is no way I know of that you can use to insert a “bio” on the category pages that will be tabbed across the top of the blog horizontally.
