Inquiry about plug-in set up

  Hi, I have a blog website which I am trying to get off the ground. In order to let my followers know about my posts I need to be able to cross post with the site’s FB account. However, whenever I go to plugin it says I need to pay $300 per year in order to access FREE plugins? Is this accurate? If I am missing something please let me know. I do not make money from this blog and this would be a large expense – especially if it is every year.
