inseart a pic from url

    i am trying to learn how to inseart a pic from url. i uploaded a pic to tinypic.com and then created a new post and click on add media–>inseart from url and i paste the url.

    but what i see now in the post is a Hyperlink to the picture!! i thought i will see the picture embedded in the post? is it possible to do that (embed the pic from url in the post rather than puting the url link of the picture)

    You’re not seeing the image because you didn’t use the right URL. The URL you used is this:
    http://tinypic.com/r/v2wf0k/6
    That’s not the URL of an image, it’s the URL of a webpage (with the image on it). Image URLs always end with the filetype (jpg or png or gif). The URL you should have used is this:
    http://i50.tinypic.com/v2wf0k.jpg

    But inserting images via URL isn’t good practice: your pages will take longer to load, you get fewer options for manipulating the image, some browser versions don’t understand how the theme downsizes the image and may display it in its actual size or distorted, plus you run the risk of a no-show of the other site is down or takes too long to load or if the image is relocated or removed.
