Insert a Polldaddy quiz as a post?

Hello, Is there a way to embed a survey I created on Polldaddy as a post on my blog? Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, they give you the embed code but they also give you a shortcode for WordPress.com. Just copy that code and paste it in the Visual editor in your blog, give it a title and tags and such, add text or images to the post if you want, and there you go. You can see how it looks here:

    GPOY

and hey! You should vote while you’re there!

Hmmm, did not work for me, Rainwater. I copied the WP shortcode and pasted it on the Visual editor, but all I end up w/ is a draft with a title and the shortcode. Am I forgetting any steps? Thanks!

p.s.-the poll, I’ll weigh in, but I have to explore your site some more before I do. Leaning toward wolverine…..

Actiually, that should read Courage Wolf, my bad

Ha, no worries. I just don’t want the Oxford Comma to be my new spirit animal.

If you got the shortcode and you pasted it in and it didn’t come up properly, I am not sure what’s wrong. Can you change the date on the Draft so it’s really ancient, like 2008, and then publish it and give me a link? Then I can look at it and see what’s wrong.

I need either more caffine or more sleep, ha. I did notice some of the content about the Oxford Comma, I promise not to do that to you :)

Really nothing to post or show, raincoaster. In the Visual editor I see the shortcode I pasted from the Polldaddy site, when I “Publish”, I end up with a normal appearing post, sans any content on the page excepting only the title.

Hmm, what’s the exact code it’s giving you?

Note that you’re talking about a survey, not a poll: doesn’t work the same way.

Raincoaster, Panaghiotisadam, my apologies–it is actually a “quiz” that I created at Polldaddy.

I do get a WP shortcode if I select to embed/link as a “Website Popup”, but not if I select to embed/link as “Website Inline”. When I attempt to embed/link selecting “Website Inline”, I get only ” <iframe frameborder=”0″ width=”100%”…..”, but no WP shortcode.

I posted the “pop-up”, and this is where/how it appears on my site: http://greenmountainscribes.wordpress.com/

    Any ideas? Thanks

I am having an issue now that we have updated to the latest WordPress version on another site and I am wondering if it is the same type of problem. I am using Survey Monkey’s embed code on another site not hosted at WordPress, but ever since we upgraded to 3.2.1 I am having problems with the survey. I am looking all over for threads related to the problem.

@greenmountainscribes: It appears that your poll/quiz is not using polldaddy, if it is the one in the most recent post.

You will only see the polldaddy shortcode in the draft. If you preview the post — or actually post it — you should see the poll.

You can only embed the wordpress shortcode, since wp.com strips out the iframe code.

You can use a “button” to bring the poll/survey/quiz to pop up, or you can use a banner, or a slider. The banner will show on any page where the post with the code appears — in other words, if you’re on the main page or a search page with the post, the banner will appear there in addition to appearing on the page with the individual post. Once the poll/survey/quiz has been clicked on and viewed by you or any other visitor, the banner will disappear (polldaddy sets a cookie).
