Insert custom widgets into home page

    I would like to insert into my home page a graphic where a visitor enters their email and in exchange I give them some free helpful information. Is that possible? Do I need to purchase a premium theme for that?

    It sounds like this would make use of an embed form, which is blocked at WordPress.com due to security reasons:

    One solution would be to add a link to your subscription form hosted elsewhere (services like Mailchimp and AWeber offer this option) and then having readers click to sign-up. Would that work?
