Insert Flickr images from URL
-
Whatever happened to the “insert from url” flickr page?
I used to see this
http://wpbarista.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/flickr-3.pngwhich allowed aligning the picture and adding a caption.
Now when in click on “add media” > “insert from url” I just get a “title” text box – and that’s it.
Has this feature been disabled? Or am I looking in the wrong place?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s a screenshot of the old Media Manager, which changed back in November.
When you click the “Insert Media” button above the Post or Page Editor, you’ll see on the left a link to “Insert from URL”.

Thanks Jennifer, but I don’t see the information you describe on when I click on “add media” > Insert from URL
I see this instead http://www.flickr.com/photos/dullhunk/9452024952/ there is no “alignment”, “link to” information like there used to be ( and as described in the post you link to above)
Any ideas what’s going on here?

The image file you are trying to insert by URL must end in .jpg .png .gif etc. Once you do that, you should see the other options for caption, alignment, etc.
Other options for flickr images:
Oembed: Directly in the Post/Page Editor, paste the URL of the image on its own line, making sure no other bit of text or code is on the same line with it.Or:
-
Addendum to the Oembed method: the URL cannot be a link. If it is, use the “unlink” button to remove it.

Great thanks, I new I must’ve been doing something stupid, but couldn’t figure it out. Thanks again for your help.
