insert link button: "or link to existing content" option is gone
-
When I attempt to use the “add link” button in the visual editor, I can no longer choose the “or link to existing content” option. This option simply no longer appears on the popup window that comes up after clicking the chain-link button.
The “or link to existing content” option is shown in several placed in the WordPress help on this page:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/links/
I am using chrome 47.0.2526.80 (64-bit) under Fedora 22 linux.
One possible relevant fact is that a couple weeks ago I switched from a free to a premium WordPress account.
I couldn’t find any help in the forums. Thanks!

That’s a known issue in the new editor https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/editor-feedback?replies=739
If you use the classic editor this isn’t an issue.
You cannot deactivate the new Beep Beep Boop editor but you do not have to use it. For locating the ways and means of accessing the legacy or classic pages for creating posts, editing posts, and for viewing stats see here > Navigating the Classic WordPress.COM interface http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2015/04/05/navigating-the-classic-wordpress-com-interface/
On the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
To create posts in the classic editor for you that link ishttp://cyclostationary.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php
On the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts one can hover over any post title and click the Edit link. and proceed with editing. -
Thanks @timethief. I appreciate the quick reply. I used the classic editor and everything is just fine now. I do like the beep beep boop editor, though. Hopefully this problem will be resolved soon.
