Insert link problems

I already posted to this forum, so I hate to start a new topic, but I’m having trouble with the WordPress interface, for lack of a better word. Help and Screen Options menus are not dropping down, I can’t insert links into posts/pages (it just takes me to the post page for some reason), can’t get the Add Media box to pop up.

Browser is Google Chrome, up to date (checked it a couple of days ago). I cleared my cache, ran through a list of steps given to me by timetheif, except disabling browser extensions (?) not sure how to do that…nothing worked.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you again.

I found the same problem discovered today.
In the interest of giving the staff all they need to solve this problem for anyone who encounters it, I’ll add that I’ve got FireFox all up-to-date (25.0.1 as of this writing), so it’s not strictly a Chrome problem.
I always clear my cache and history and whatever else when I close the browser.

I would also like to elaborate:
If I try to add a link (which is the first problem I noticed), the section for linking to existing content tells me that no search term is specified, and that it is simply showing recent items, but the list is blank; even when I specify a search term, the list remains blank.

When I try to add a link manually, it simply takes me to a list of posts I’d made with the option to edit them; annoying, that, especially after I’d attempted to add a link one page after making several edits to it, and found that because I’d gone to another page mid-edit none of my changes were saved.

And when I try to edit a link that already exists (either one that was added via the “add link” box when it worked, or added manually via the HTML viewer), the entire box is blank, without even the existing link showing.

Also, since I can’t edit my old post: the post is tagged for staff to look at.

  • Hi,

We just deployed a fix for this issue. Can you all try again and let me know by replying to this thread if it doesn’t work?

    Thanks!
