Insert posts for previous days?

Hi. I have not yet selected a theme, but in general is it possible to add a page after the date has passed?

What I mean is this: Tonight it is Sun, Oct 16, 2011 01:22 AM. I am beginning a health monitoring blog and I need to start with the fist post being October.4, Then the 5th, etc. Then I want to finish with a post for today.

Is this possible? Or does a blog only allow posts to be posted in chronological order with no going back to stick in a post for a previous day?

    -Peregrine

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Pages have no dates that are visible.

If you are talking about posts, then just backdate it using this support document as a guide.

I just now read the page you directed me to, and it is about scheduling posts to be published at a later date, at a date subsequent to today.

What I want to do is start a health monitoring blog that starts today but goes back to October 4, 2011. Is it possible to write up a post today, Oct. 16, 2011, but have it dated October 4? And then another post dated October 5, etc?

This would be the opposite of what your link describes.

Also, since this blog will be for my eyes only, is it possible to delete the words Comments, Tags, Categories, etc?

I want to simply enter my own text and leave it there as a medical history.

Oh wait. I see how TAGS can be useful. :-)

It isn’t only about scheduling for the future, you can just as well enter a past date. Just enter the past date.

Since it is for your eyes only, just ignore the categories and tags and such. The only way to remove them is with the Custom Design upgrade.

I will check out that link again about back posting.

I tested out a bunch of themes and found one that does not clutter up the text area with Comment, Tags, etc. Those are put in the left hand margin underneath the date, out of the way. All I want is a date in large font and post text very clear, easy to read, not too small.

I found that SKEPTICAL theme fits my need for visual clarity.

I see no place on the New Post page that allows me to type in a previous date.
I am able to type out dates in the Subject or Text fields, but they all will go under a time stamp of today, October 26.

Please tell me where I should look to enter a date that is prior to today.

I meant to write October 16.

Read the support document I referenced. It is in the publish module after you click on the “edit” link where it says “publish.”

Do it just like the document says for scheduling a future post, but put in the PAST date.

Success this time! Earlier I tried to fill in the toggles for the dates, but when I deleted 16 (today’s date) and typed in 3 (October 3), the page closed up and disappeared. I had to open up the blog and find that page again.

That made me think that re-entering a date previous to today’s date was a No Go, not allowed.

And I was wrong. If I had tried to enter the “3” a second time, as I just now did a minute ago, it would probably have worked, just like it worked this time.

    Thanks!!! :-)
