"Insert Read More tag" not displaying properly

  Hi there!

  With my theme “Gather”, I’m having trouble customizing the “Read More” option.

  When i insert the “Insert Read More tag”, it creates an excerpt like desired, but then it displays this:

  Continue reading <span class=”meta-nav”>-</span>

  -This appears on every post, I’m not sure why. When I look at the html it states what it should (<!–more–>)

  Does anyone know a solution? Thanks in advance!
