“Insert Slideshow” button not there, slideshow issues
-
I’ve looked at the 24/7 Support instructions on slideshows, and it displays an “Insert Slideshow” button on the Gallery tab that is supposed to be there. It isn’t on mine.
I did manage to make one slideshow on the “Fan Photos” page on my site by typing “[slideshow]” on that page. The photos had already been there for several days.
When I try to do the same thing with a post however, I either get a blank slideshow or no slideshow at all. That’s both before and after saving the draft.
Any thoughts?

@kerribleu: Hi. I recommend you start by reading the support documentation about slideshows:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/slideshows/If you’re still having difficulties, create a new thread and specify exactly what is going wrong. Simply saying that you’re having the same problem does not help us help you. Thanks!

How can I add pictures that are uploaded to another Post/Page and already show up in the media center to a new post. Do I have to upload them again? Can I copy them or even select them to be used in the gallery?

@pccbadmin: In order to give you accurate advice, we need the URL of your blog, starting with http:// please. Also, specify if you are actually talking about slideshows (the topic of this thread) or images in general (in which case you’re off-topic :-)

@erichdossow: Hi. You don’t need to actually insert the images. Simply upload them while you are editing your post or page, Save the changes and then insert the Slideshow shortcode:
[slideshow]
That code will make a slideshow of whatever images are attached to your post or page. More details here (as explained above):
http://en.support.wordpress.com/slideshows/If that’s too difficult or not flexible enough, there are always other slideshow alternatives. Check the links at the bottom of the support documentation.

thx for your kindness, but it didnt help, because the images i want to include are uploaded already. I´d like to do this with the wordpress-slideshow, because all other slideshows are made like this. In the Mediathek menue is nothing where i can ad numbers or anything else to the images, to include them in a slideshow. So I thought adding them again and write “[slideshow]” would fix it. Do u still have an idea?

@erichdossow- Images have to be “attached” to the Post or Page for the Slideshow/Gallery to work correctly. You do this by either uploading them to the Post or Page where you want them to appear, or you can attach them in the Media Library but only if they aren’t already attached to another Post or Page.

You may have to install the slideshow plugin to be able to access this. That is not mentioned on the slideshow information page. I am working on our company blog which is a .org rather than the usual .com wordpress blogs that I use for my personal blogs and found this out the hard way.
