Insert Soundcloud playlist in a Widget

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

I would like to insert Playlist Soundcloud configured with the color of my choice and one of the two proposed models: there is one with a large photo and one with a small picture, I try to insert the one with the small picture in a widget text with the following code:

But when I insert the code with the color of my choice on soundcloud generate the # b21f22, it remains in orange color with the initial large size photo in the player, see here at the bottom of the page http: // viconnexion .com / 2015/12/07 / gadgets-and-spies-miniature-cameras-and-vintage-secret-agents /,
then I want the small picture with the extract of music titles.

The code used is the following:

    [url = soundcloud “https://api.soundcloud.com/playlists/1564307″ params=”color=b21f22&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width = “100%” height = “450” iframe = “true” /]

I did some research on this page also, but nothing I can neither peronnaliser one of 2 players offered by Soundcloud, nor customize the color, even by copying and pasting the code at the end of page for the example BANKS playlist

What code should I use? Should I change other than Soundcloud Player?
There there a simpler way to put music on his site?

    Best regards.

Hello, yes I have already read the 2 links you sent me but it does not. And I do not understand, I must add the word “modlook” my tags? So that we can better help me on this?
Sorry my English is not very good, and computer language that is even worse.

The modlook tag has been added all you need to do is be patient while Staff work their way forward to this thread to help you.

  • Hi, @endopertot

The color can only be changed if you use the old-style player by adding &visual=false to the params attribute of the shortcode. Your shortcode should look like this:

    [soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/playlists/1564307" params="color=b21f22&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&visual=false" width = "100%" height = "450" iframe = "true" /]

Thank you for everything, but even with your code, it does not. As you can see here, http://viconnexion.com/2015/12/07/gadgets-and-spies-miniature-cameras-and-vintage-secret-agents/
I do not want this model of Player but the other proposed by soundcloud and use the color of my choice. But even with your code that I added in my Text Widget it’s not working. I had already worked in the past …

    What code should I use?

There is there a simpler way to add music? Because I’d like to put recurrently …

    Thanking you in advance.

  • There are two SoundCloud player options, as in this screen shot:
    https://cloudup.com/cpe4ornVmaI

The top one is the code I gave above. With that player you can change the colour.

The bottom one is the code currently on your site. With that option it’s not possible to change the colour.

    From the support doc:

visual = (true or false) will determine if the player uses the new visual Soundcloud player. (This parameter must be set to false for the color parameter to work.)
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/soundcloud-audio-player/#manual-customization

You can find alternative Audio options here:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/

Note that if you upgrade to the Premium Plan you can upload MP3 files directly to your media library and insert them into your posts using the player built into WordPress.com. That might be simpler than using an outside service like SoundCloud.

Thank you for all these details.
I guess with Premium wordpress, there are no copyright issues and it’s easier to put music.
A big thank you for your response.
    Good night

  • The Premium Plan does not change anything in terms of copyright. The only change is that it allows you to upload MP3 files to the library, rather than hosting them somewhere else. But if you upload a file that violates someone’s copyright they will still be able to submit a take-down request and you might still be held liable should they choose to take the matter further.

However, if you own the audio files, we see it the same as we do your written content and images – you don’t need special permission to host and display your own content on your site, but you are also responsible for adding any copyright warnings should you be concerned about people stealing your content.

Let me know if any of this is unclear :)
