Insert word document

I used to be able to add a link to a word document in my ‘Page’ tabs. I cannot select a saved document from my computer to add. I can only add pictures now,. Can you please help me?

What I do with my documents I convert them into jpg format and upload them as pictures. There is a free converter online you can convert from PDF or Word to Image.
