Inserted .pdf file doesn’t show up

WordPress says that I can insert at .pdf file into my post, and it LOOKS like I’ve done it, but when I preview the post, all I see is the title of the .pdf file. What is going wrong?

Is there a link? Can you click it and bring up the pdf file? If so, everything is ok. You cannot display the pdf content directly. To do that you need to upload it into scribd and then embed it into your post/page.

Thanks for telling me about scribd, but something is wrong with it. I created an account and tried to upload my file. A little box asked me to confirm that I am in compliance with their privacy policy. I said yes. Then the little box went away and…. no file. I tried it three times. The file is not really uploaded.
Is there a reason the file needs to be with scribd? What about another service, or even someplace on my own server?

But you didn’t reply to husdal’s question: did you get a link when you uploaded the pdf to your blog? My guess is no. If so, reupload the pdf, this time clicking the “File URL” option.
