Insert/Edit Link Button in Text Editor Does Not Work for me

Hi, I was able to highlight text, hit the link/chain button in the text editor and make it all work before the latest WP dashboard change and now it just does not do anything. I thought it was became a security thing but have turned it off and still no link. I have Internet Explorer, Win v5.1 XP.
When the dialog box title Insert/edit Link opens, I set the link url, select target to be same window, and hit INSERT. It then clears the box, leaving it open. If I cancel out, nothing happens.

The image insert function of the editor is not working again today. It began working yesterday for a while. I cannot “insert” an image into a post after uploading it from my computer. The imqge uploads, but when I attempt to “insert” it I get a blank white screen.
It is not “me” since I have done this countless times.

According to the authors of the TinyMCE editor that WordPress uses, they are compatible with IE5.5 SP2 and newer on Windows XP. I would suggest upgrading IE to 6 or 7, but right now it has problems in other areas of WordPress.
My suggestion would be to download and use Firefox as it is by far the most compatible with WordPress.
