inserting a link into a post

  I posed this question on “inserting an image” and realize it was in the wrong place. Why did WordPress make the heretofore simple task of inserting a link into a post an exercise in difficulty and irritation?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  It is no different from what it was over two years ago when I first started here.

  1. In the editor, highlight the text in the post or page that you want to serve as the link (it can even be the URL rather than standard text).
  2. Click on the “link” icon and insert the URL into the “link URL” field.
  3. Click “insert” and the text is now linked to the URL.
