Inserting a link to automatic email contact

  How doe you insert a link that brings up an email message to me the blog writer. I am building a blog webpage and want people to be able to email me with questions about availability. I can insert images, and links to other websites but can’t find a way to insert a connection to me via email.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Doing a mail link is not really a good idea since spammers continually scan the web looking for email addresses so they can ply you with their wonderful [sic] offers.

  My recommendation is to use the contact form here since it insulated you from such things.

  The new contact form here has custom fields and some great features and can even be used in the sidebar.

  Thanks Sacred Path, I have done this, but I am encountering a problem, or corruption of the tool. Didn’t realise the default on the contact form sends email to the email of the registered blogger. So I filled out the Email Contact menu, now the contact form appears on my page with my name in the name section and my email address in the email box. Any suggestions?

  That is only because you are logged in and there is a cookie on your computer that wordpress reads and it then fills out that information for you. Log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies and then visit the contact page and they fields will be blank.

  Thanks Sacredpath, I have followed your instructions and it still isn’t working! The fields look blank when I click on Email Notification, but when I preview or publish it my name and email address appear again in the contact boxes. I have also taken the my blog bookmark out of the safari and firefox menues also, restarted the computer several times …. Any other suggestions?

  If you are clicking on on Preview/Publish, it means you are STILL logged in, so it’s perfectly normal you are still seeing your info, but your visitors will see their info (if THEY are logged in) or no info at all. This is NOT a bug. It’s the way it works. Your visitors WILL NOT see your personal info. Do you understand?
