Inserting Amazon Associate links

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m trying to get links to Amazon products on my blog, I’ve signed up to the Associates thing, I’ve copied the appropriate HTML, but when I add it on the blog (anywhere; in a text widget, in the HTML itself), it just brings up the HTML text which links to the ‘click box’ instead of bringing that box up itself. No idea where I’m going wrong as I’m doing everything that the ‘experts’ say…

Since the site linked to your username has been deleted, please give us a link to the WordPressdotcom website you need help with.

Generally, you can link to products on Amazon, but they must be text links and within the context of your post. They cannot be banner/image links and the sole reason for your website.

    This is my blog: https://paulmfeeney.wordpress.com/

Well, they’re not the sole reason for my site, but they are links to my own work on Amazon, as my blog is an author blog where I will post reviews, articles and so on. As I’ve signed up to the Amazon Associates thing, I don’t really understand why these image/links won’t appear properly on the sidebars of the pages. Nothing of that was said when I signed up for Associates or going through WordPress forums. If that’s the case, I’ll leave the links embedded in the posts themselves. cheers for replying.
