Inserting an image

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m new to wordpress and am trying to insert several images into one posting. Whenever I try, no matter where I put my cursor in the post, the image goes to the top of the post. Also, the documentation suggests that the actual image should appear when I’m editing my post. I don’t get the image, I only get the html (I assume it’s html) code. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks!

For the second issue, switch to the visual editor as is explained here:

About the first question I don’t know what may be happening

For the first issue, make sure you are in the visual editor rather than the HTML (tabs at top of editor window to the right).

@mollyblossom I tried to reproduce the problem where the images aren’t inserted where you expect them and couldn’t. What browser and browser version are you using?

Could you try moving the cursor into place using the arrow keys to make absolutely sure the cursor is in the right place? I’m wondering if the placement of the cursor just isn’t registering properly in your browser when you click with the mouse for some reason.

For the html issue, the advice already given is correct, make sure the Visual tab just above the editor is what you are using.

Thanks so much for your help. Once I went into the visual editor I was easily able to place my images.

    Thanks again!
