Hi there!
I’m going to take a try at this. This might be of no help and I apologize if it’s not. I’ve never used Google Photos before, but WordPress allows you to insert any photo that has a URL and it looks like Google provides a URL for all the public albums and photos:

You can add a image from an URL as follows:
1. Select the “Add Media” button
2. In the left sidebar select “Import from URL”
3. Copy the photo URL for the google image you want on your site.
4. Add a caption if you want and insert into your post.Let me know if that doesn’t work for you.
Kind regards,

So I think the problem here is figuring out where the right public URL is. I tried the “shareable link” they provide and wordpress doesn’t recognize that as an image.
This is what I just tried and it worked for me on my PC.
1. Open the image in Google Photo so its in the viewing pane (so not the thumbnail).
2. Right click on the image
3. Select in the pop up “copy image location”That will give you the URL that starts with “https://lh3.googleusercontent.com” which is the one that WordPress actually recognizes as an image.
I used to go to PicasaWeb albums to do this but it looks like they are slowly phasing that out. So hopefully this fix sticks b/c that’s where all my storage is.

thank you both. i was thinking there was a simple way to do this. because how many people have wordpress.com blogs and use google photos? a lot i bet.
ppchha, this works but there is no sizing info so the picture appears huge. now i know i can code this in but it’s much slower then how i work in flickr now.
when i blog i try to create fast. that’s how i get the best stuff and that’s how i get the least frustrated. : ) coding is the opposite of creating content imo.
