Inserting HTML I Didn’t Ask For
-
I don’t understand this at all. It seems like whenever there is a problem with my blog, it is because of WordPress’ editor adding things I never asked for.
Take this page for example: http://mmofallout.com/sales/
There are extra bullet points, breaks, and spaces I didn’t want. I get rid of them in the visual editor, update, and they are re-added. I fix it in the HTML view, go back to visual to check, and all the code I just deleted is re-added. I’m finding tags added and duplicated at random points.
So why does the WordPress editor seem intent on breaking my pages? It adds tags I didn’t ask for, bolds text and then refuses to un-bold it, adds spaces where I didn’t ask, and even if I delete the erroneous HTML the editor simply adds them back again when I update/publish.
Is it because I’m on Chrome and there’s some compatibility issue causing the editor to go “Oh yea, he clearly wanted me to add . Oh, he deleted it, guess I’ll just have to add it again.”

First off, go to settings > writing and make sure the selection about having wordpress automatically correct nested XHTML is selected and save.
I also think you need to contact staff directly on this and let them take a look as from what I see looking at the source code of that page, the editor might have gone crazy.
