inserting hyperlink into page text

Last fall, I added a page of text and concluded with a hyperlink to an article on another site. Previewed it, worked fine, even received a thank you comment for the page. Today I review it and fing the hyperlink does not work. And have tried twice to insert it again, but the insert appears as text rather than as a hyperlink. What am I doing wrong?

What is the link to the page of text, and where is the link supposed to be (ie what words are linked?)?

raincoaster, your response causes me to think I did not express my quandry clearly.
the insertion is a website address to another onloine publication, and it comes at the end of my explanation to my readers of why I want them to read the article in the other publcation.
