inserting image from gallery problem
-
Until yesterday, I could upload my images to the gallery and then insert them from the gallery where ever I chose by clicking the cursor in the proper location. Now each time I do this from the gallery, the picture is placed at the top of my post. It will not locate anywhere else!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I have to insert each picture one at a time from the computer instead of the gallery. This is EXTREMELY tedious, as I keep having to go back to my pictures folder and wait for each one to upload.
I don’t know what has changed. Anyone else having this problem? Is there a solution?
Blogging from the road with limited 3G access and power. Can’t resort to tedious way for too long. Thanks!

Yes others have been experiencing problem with images. I have not way of knowing if they are the same issues or not. Have you reported this issue to Staff? http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

I’ve been having the same problem and started a topic about it. Someone tonight replied that they, and several other people, are having the same problem the past couple of days. I used to upload and insert each picture from my computer all at once, but I was having so many problems with my computer, internet connection, and the like, that I thought uploading photos to the gallery one day, then inserting each picture the next was a better way. But now that isn’t working, so I have to wait for this to be fixed before I can continue with my blog. But if many people are having the problem, then wordpress will know and will have to work on it. If I can’t upload pictures to the bottom of my blog posts, then I can’t continue with the blog at all.

@gabrielcgottlieb: Contact staff at http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
And please, do not post duplicate questions. Just once is enough :-)

Insert the picture as usual.
Yes, it shows at the top.
Go to HTML view, then copy and delete that mis-placed URL.
Paste it where you want it to go (in HTML view).It’ll stick.
Maybe they can fix the thing – soon.
Til then, this works. -

Have you tried troubleshooting?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/
Have you tried using another browser?
If you have and have not experienced success then have you filed a support ticket with Staff? http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ -
Same problem for me. I am using Internet Explorer. Everything was fine until last night (4/21). Tried using and renaming an old blog that had worked well but it, too, now sends the images to the top.

I have the same problem and reported it to staff. Just had an exchange with a staff person who asked me to try editing my blog on Mozilla Firefox to determine if the problem is exclusively related to Internet Explorer users. I did so and discovered that I could edit the blog on Firefox without any problems so the problem is related to Internet Explorer. Staff is working to resolve the problem.

Thanks! I’ll try that. Recently I have had trouble with Firefox playing annoying little almost-musical snippets and quit using it, but that didn’t coincide with the blog problem.

I am new to WordPress and uses a MacBook Pro. Is it possible to copy and paste an image from a Page document to the draft blog post? I tried. The image appeared in the editor but not in the preview or published post.

I have the same problem and i am using IE9. As my blog is a photography blog this has made it impossible for me to do anything. Also, the cursor will not move to the top, nor the bottom. Why should we change to another browser? WordPress should work with all browsers.

I decide what browser i want to use and if WP won’t work anymore with IE then that’s ok with me, i just move on. Why should i be forced to change to Firefox just to blog,
-
@airodyssey You are assuming i haven’t already contacted them. And if the ‘answer’ is, as always, to switch to another browser, how is that not forcing me to use another browser? I use IE, therefore i have been unable to blog for days, to fix the problem i have to switch browser…and i won’t!!

@janvtala
If you have contacted Staff that’s good. We Volunteers simply wish to share the totality of the information we have and then how to proceed is up to the blogger. If you are solution orientated then you will proceed to do what you can do to enjoy success. If you wish to cling to IE and not be able to blog then that’s your prerogative. -
I feel like I’m back in the 6th grade.
Folks, something is broken. It’s Easter weekend and WordPress is not going to get to it until maybe tomorrow.
There are workarounds listed in this thread.Telling someone to move to another browser is like saying ride a bike since the window on your car won’t work.
A bit extreme.
With 400,000+ bloggers, Workpress will get to it.
IE is the #1 browser – of course most people use it.
Use the workaround.Back under our rock :-)
Timethief, you got a cool site.
