Inserting image into home page in Responsive theme

  I am trying to insert an image into the content section of the home template in the Responsive theme, with text on the left side and the image on the right (exactly as shown in the Responsive theme home template example) and regardless of what alignment I chose for my image, I can only get it to appear above or below the text. Can anyone help me?

  What you see to the right in the example is not actually inserted into the page, it’s the featured image, which you can set following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/
