Inserting images
-
I am having terrible trouble adding images. Technically I know what to do but when I click Add Media the dialog box comes up at the bottom half of the screen and I cannot move it or see the radio buttons or the OK/Cancel buttons. I cannot move the dialog box further up the screen and even if I move my taskbar from the bottom of the screen this does not help
Any suggestions? -

I am having the same problem. I have stopped using Safari as it does not work properly with wordpress and am using the latest Camino update. I have followed all the instructions from previous posts.

use firefox, upload images to photobucket and then copy the [img] code into HTML section of new post

You don’t need to have firefox in order to use photobucket.
Flickr.com and photobucket are both great image hosting options and they are both free; if you’re having problems as many are with the image uploader in wordpress, know you can also use the uploaders that are hosted elsewhere and use the html codes provided to you there.
if you prefer the wordpress option however, the firefox browser may give you the least trouble at this point while the bugs are worked out.

That’s a good workaround but doesn’t address the problem which is that the Add Media screen is off the bottom of the page and stuck there. I’m suddenly, within the last half hour, having the same problem but this is only the last of a series of problems with posting images since 2.5 came out.

I had this problem for the first time tonight. I added the images to the gallery, and then added them to the post from the gallery. For some reason, in the gallery mode the window will go up to allow you to add the image.
This is a lot of trouble. I would hope that I will not have this problem the next time I post. -
I’m also having this problem, in both Firefox (latest version) and Safari 3.1. Very frustrating. If anyone figures out how to fix it, please post. Has anyone reported it to WordPress support?

Just wondering…I didn’t have the stuck Add Media window until after I had closed that window (by clicking the top right X) without actually adding an image. Anyone else have that experience?

I think a lot of us are having this problem. I reported it with some other folks in another thread.

We made some bug fixes to the uploader. Can you force a refresh on the browser and try again?

I just forced a refresh with the Add Image pane up and when the refresh was complete it seems, for the moment, to be working. Thanks.

hi. it temporarily worked for me -the window is now in the proper place – but the image is not loading. if I try to load from Gallery, the photo is too small. I like to just insert into the post but it seems if you just hit ‘insert into post’ nothing happens. if you hit ‘save all changes’ sometimes that inserts it but not always. eek.

It’s worked for me now, the problems cleared, whether it did it itself or wordpress did it, its working fine.. I’m on Mozilla Firefox/Windows PC.

The radio buttons (left, right, center) still don’t work. The Post Editor has the image in the correct position but the post on the blog is always on the left. I can correct the image position to center by using this code: style=”margin: 0pt auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center” in place of the class=”aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3052″ title=””.
I’m using the Andreas 04 template. The URL of my page is http://oldstersview.wordpress.com if you want to look at it for some problem.

Well, that’s progress. I can’t post an image at all now using the Add Image “feature”. Good example of a premature release of exceptionally buggy software.

Same here, in that the media dialog box sits below my monitor screen and I can’t see the bottom part of the box!
I cut and pasted this from my browser Help drop down menu:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080404 Firefox/2.0.0.14 -
