Inserting images into posts and my stats page

  I’ve noticed recently that wordpress no longer offers an easy one-click way to insert pictures from links outside of wordpress into blog posts. This is used to be a feature, now it seems the only way to do insert an image is to upload it to my wordpress album first. Am I missing something? This is incredibly frustrating. Does wordpress benefit from images being uploaded to the website rather than linked from another image storage website? I’d rather not have to copy and paste html in order to insert images from another website.

  Also, I noticed now when I click on the stats button in the upper left, it takes me directly to the ‘insights’ page. This is irritating — I wish there was a single button that would take me to the old My Stats page. Is there a button that will take me directly to My Stats (not Stats)? And if not, why not?
