Inserting information from Shelter Manager

Hi, I am trying to create a website for a local animal shelter who use the platform Shelter Manager.

I have tried following their website instructions, I have input the required script into the Custom HTML block and I am fairly sure it is working as it loads all the required data when I hit preview mode on the custom block menu.
However, once I update the page and try to view it the block converts to a hyperlink with the code for all the data that was meant to be visible on my webpress website.
When I go back to edit that I can see that the coding has changes.

See pre-save and working text in the preview mode for the Customs HTML block.

And post page update and view

Is this an account issue? An what level of paid account would fix this? I was hoping to use the premium account once the website was finished and approved by the NFP Shelter.

I have tried various ways of entering this, even in code edit mode and cant quite seem to get there. Please help.

  • Hi there,

The embed code you are trying to use is one that is intended for self-hosted websites, which are sites that you create on a “traditional web host” like Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc.

That code does not work correctly on WordPress.com sites however, due to our policy on 3rd party code here: https://wordpress.com/support/code/#flash-and-other-embeds

You can however upgrade your site to the Business Plan, which will unlock the more advanced version of WordPress (to allow you to upload 3rd party plugins and themes) and also has the ability to display your embed code. Learn more about our WordPress.com Business Plan here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
