Inserting links in posts
-
I tried inserting a link into one of my posts and when I publish the post there is just a blank space where the link should be. I tried (using the directions on the WordPress support page) both methods: visual editor and html editor with same results. Anyone else experienced this problem? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks, Michelle

Can we have a link to a post on your blog that is experiencing this problem? Also, what browser aand version are you using? And have you changed the colours on the blog at all?

I’m experiencing this problem as well. I’ve tried both methods as well and links/videos/pictures don’t show. Using IE, no colour changes.

@solidarnotes: As raincoaster says above, we need a link to a post with the problem in question.

@panaghiotisadmam: http://solidarnotes.wordpress.com/2009/02/24/a-paradigm-shift-in-perspective-on-africa/ . I’m trying to link to a TED talk found here: http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/andrew_mwenda_takes_a_new_look_at_africa.html

I can only see plain text in your post – no traces of an attempted link.
Method 1: Post editor > highlight “enjoy the video” > click the Link button > paste the URL of the talk in the box that pops up.
Method 2: HTML post editor > paste the code for a link. Model:
<a href="URL_HERE" target="_blank">TEXT_HERE</a> -
@panaghiotisadmam: I’ve tried both methods numersous times. The link button on my “visual” posting dashboard is dead, and when I paste the code into the post in HTML it disappears when I hit “update” post. That is, the link does not show, nor does the HTML code.
Any further help?

No further help, I’m afraid: that’s the way to do links, and the URL you gave above is ok. I even tried it in my tests blog after switching to the theme you’re using: theme ok too. Maybe you should try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies (if you haven’t tried that already). Failing that, too, you should probably contact Support.
