inserting tags in the Toujours theme

    I am trying to place a tag on a page so it will show up on the home page in the featured posts slide show, can anyone help me with that?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi thenaturalallure,

    Unfortunately, you can not place a tag on a page. You can only do so on a post. See this page here for the difference between a page and a post.

    Once you create a post, you would need to follow these steps highlighted on Toujours’ documentation found here.

    Here are the steps:

    Use Featured Content to activate the homepage slideshow:

    Go to Customize → Featured Content.
    Enter a tag name for the featured posts.
    Edit the posts that you want to display in the slideshow, and give them the featured tag you have just selected.
    To display three posts below the slideshow, navigate to Theme Options in the Customizer. Choose whether to display your three most recent posts in a special area above your other posts. This option works well with posts that have featured images.

    This isn’t quite accurate:

    Unfortunately, you can not place a tag on a page. You can only do so on a post.

    Themes that support pages in Featured Content do allow tags on pages. There’s a list of such themes here:

    Toujours isn’t a theme that supports pages in Featured Content, though, so it’s not possible to add a tag to a page in that theme. If this is important to you, have a look at the themes in the list above.
