Inserting text from MS Word using Word editor

Previously, the Rich Text edit bar included a specific icon for inserting text from MS Word. This function, although with its limitations, worked fairly well bring in basic text and basic features, such as endnotes, etc. This function appears to have been removed from the Text Edit Bar, with only the “insert plain text” as the only function remaining. How can similar functions be done (for basics, like endnotes and line break formats) be accomplished…unless you have simply decided to remove this functionality.
