"Insights" Stats Page – Why?
-
This has just started showing up as the default page when I check my stats.
This page seems to be the latest phase of uselessness in the vastly inferior New Stats format. If I am looking to quickly check my stats *for the current day* I do not need to know which days and times get the most post views. I also do not need a calendar grid showing every day that I posted in the past year.
I also notice that the link to the old stats page has completely disappeared from every Stats page, along with the link to the Forums/Support where we might be able to express our views of this change. Hmm.
(And yes, I have bookmarked the link on the admin page that still goes to the old stats page.)
Staff, please don’t bother to post the corporate-speak about how these changes enhance the cross-platform experience, because they don’t. At least, for the *majority* of us who use laptops/desktops to work on our blogs.
At the very least, please make the “Days” page the default landing page, and reinstate the links to Forums and Support at the bottom of the stats page.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I understand your concerns, but as a fellow user I am not seeing all the issues you are experiencing. When I go to my stats page, it defaults to the Days view. Also, the link to the old stats page is still there at the bottom. I am not sure why you are experiencing otherwise. This could be an issue with your browser. Have you tried using a different browser?

@ariwinokur
I have cleared my browser history and tried multiple browsers, and the “Insights” page is the first page that comes up when I look at stats. -
-
To add on to musicdoc’s question; can you tell us where you click to get to the stats page?
-
I log in and then click on “My Sites” which goes to the Insights page. If I want the detailed stats for that day – you know, the stuff I actually need to know – I have to click on the “Days” tab at the top of the Insights page.
-
That’s very interesting. I click the same and get the Days tab. This is starting to look like an internal WordPress.com issue.

@fionamcquarrie: the main thread about the “new” stats page & the “Insights” is sticky on the front page:

Hi Fiona,
The days tab should still be default on your account. Depending on how you reach the stats page some links may be:
https://wordpress.com/stats/allaboutwork.org
Or some may be specifically:
https://wordpress.com/stats/day/allaboutwork.org
It sounds like your links to https://wordpress.com/stats/allaboutwork.org are leading to Insights when they should lead to Day.
My first guess as to how that would happen is some stale javascript, likely from a A/B test no longer in place. Could you please once more clear your browser cache, log out, and log in. Then click on this link:
https://wordpress.com/stats/allaboutwork.org
Let me know if that leads to Insights or Day.
