My Instagram widget is not connecting to my page now. I tried doing the update that was mentioned since the widget was installed prior to March 31st, but it’s still not working.

Hi, could you confirm you’re referring to a site that is listed here?
If so, have you tried these steps?
1) Log into your WordPress.com account.
2) Go to My Site(s) → Design → Customize.
3) Click into the “Widgets” section.
4) Expand the “Instagram” widget.
5) Click “Connect Instagram Account.”
6) Follow the prompts to reconnect your Instagram account. You can also try connecting over WP-Admin > Widgets.
If that still isn’t working, your browser might be blocking the connection with anti-tracking tools. Try using a private browser window to see if that helps.
Also, if the site is not hosted here on these servers, these steps won’t apply. If you’re not sure, send the address and we can check it for you.

I’ve tried those steps, but my page doesn’t have the exact instructions you mention. No where does it say “Connect Instagram Account”. Site address is lovemomming.com

It doesn’t look like you’ve added the Instagram widget.
Are you trying to do so as detailed at https://wordpress.com/support/instagram/instagram-widget/ or are you trying to do something else?
If you’re trying to add the widget, would you please add it and fill it out as much as you can? We can work from there.

I was just trying to get the Instagram logo underneath my “Love Momming” title to be clickable. If you click on the logo, it doesn’t take you to my Insta page. I just set up the widget for the sidebar and it shows my feed now on there, but the actual Insta logo is still broken and not working.
-
Ok the logo, sorry for misunderstanding.
It does appear to be working now though? Were you able to correct this?
-
No. It’s still not working if you go to my site, lovemomming.com and try to click on the Instagram widget.
-
Ah, okay. If I go to https://lovemomming.home.blog/ and click the instagram icon in your social menu, it works.
If I go to https://lovemomming.com, it does not work. This is because lovemomming.com isn’t the real name of the site, it’s just a stealth/framed/masked redirect. These don’t work very well for links, like your instagram link.
I’d recommend giving out the address as https://lovemomming.home.blog/ or getting a personal plan so you can map or transfer the domain here. The plan will get rid of ads and also give you more space and access to direct support, in addition to letting your domain work properly. Plus it helps cover our costs. If you’re interested, you can get that here: https://wordpress.com/personal .
-
So this still doesn’t solve the problem though. The link should still work since it’s going to my Instagram. I don’t plan on buying a personal plan and already own the domain elsewhere. So anyone that has a wordpress account cannot have an Instagram widget work if their domain is hosted elsewhere?

The link works at https://lovemomming.home.blog
It does not work at http://lovemomming.com/ due to the way your domain registrar is handling the domain masking frame. This is not something that’s in our control, so we won’t be able to fix it.
We recommend sticking with https://lovemomming.home.blog or if you do want to use lovemomming.com you can by properly mapping it https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/ or transferring it https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/
